Running on Empty

If you are traveling this weekend remember to check your gas gauge so you have enough gas to get where you are going. Perhaps you’re a daredevil and try to see how far you can get when that little orange gas tank lights up before you fill up.

Have you been living off of liquids like coffee, water, or some other drink to get you through the day, but you are not in the habit of eating anything until the evening? You become tired, weak, and usually irritable, or crabby.

This is how we can become in our spiritual walk with the Lord. We fail to spend time with God, because we are too busy and use too many excuses why we have no strength or victory in our lives to overcome. We can get into a slump and run on empty and become very thirsty and weak. Criticizing and complaining at just about everything!

This past month in the Boston area we had record heat wave temperatures above 90’s and humid which seemed forever. My mouth was so dry at times and feeling weary and exhausted I needed water like every 15 minutes or so.

Jesus said, “if any man thirst let him come to me and I will give you living water, that you will no longer thirst”. John 4:14

Jesus said, ” I am the bread of life., eat and you will hunger no more”. John 6:35

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.
Matthew 11:28

Jesus said, “Tarry and wait in Jerusalem and you will receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. Luke 24:49

Jesus said, ” On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” John 7:37-38.

Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

“Do not be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit”
Ephesians 5:18 NLT

The Lord’s desire is that we walk with him with a full tank and full stomach. To the point that His Spirit is overflowing in our lives. We all need to be filled today, because we used up a lot of energy yesterday. We cannot and should not live on God’s leftovers so ask the Lord to fill you today.
“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness”.
Colossians 2:6‭-‬7

“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers”.
Psalms 1:3

Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend my friend and safe travels.

Greetings! My name is Andy Provitola and I live in New England on the south shore between Boston and the beautiful Cape Cod region. The purpose of my blogging and writing is to encourage you in your journey here on planet earth. Life is full of pressing issues and problems and my desire is to discover a place for peace, hope, healing, and contentment. I am a follower of Jesus Christ – God’s one and only Son of God and discovered these truths along my own personal journey. Having discovered a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ does not mean I have to be religious to attain the rewards of heaven. The fact is God provides grace for us and accepts us as we are in His image. In other words, we cannot attain heaven or life eternal on our own, but by God’s loving grace and no merit of our own. My goal is to continue to find a balance of life from a spiritual and practical perspective with a purpose to please and glorify God in all that I do because of His ‘Gift of Grace’. God is not transcendent and so far away that he is out of reach with humanity. God desires that His presence lives within us and not just in the galaxies and the universe. Experiencing the unconditional love of God has been so rewarding and while discovering the truth and purpose for my life. Moving forward in this life is not a sprint, but a marathon when it comes to this race here on earth. I am blogging because I find it is a good way to connect in a much more effective and efficient way when it comes to communicating and interacting with with people that I do not know. Blogging and writing challenges me and also stretches me specifically in my thoughts, my mind, my emotions, and my spiritual life to live a vertical relation with God and a horizontal relationship with others. There will be a variety of topics and subjects to address including youth, young adults, family, singles, seniors, relationships, etc. Some of the topics will include God’s creation and power, depression, loneliness, suicide, hope, healing, setbacks, financial matters, business, stress, anxiety, care, encouragement, and so much more I would like to connect with all walks of life, ethnicity, culturally, other religions, socio-economics, and more I am currently writing a book and several memoirs about my own life and journey . The journey begins at a young age growing up in Malden, Massachusetts, specifically Maplewood Square to where I am today. I became paralyzed from the waist down as a senior in high school and I share how my life changed for the better! “But I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may [with joy] finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus. To testify faithfully of the good news of God’s [precious undeserved] grace [which makes us free of guilt of sin and grants us eternal life]. Acts 20:24 Amplified Version
