Be Refreshed Today!

We have been finally experiencing an extended summer heat wave here in New England. As the heat continues to rise above into degrees and higher. We come to experience a drought when it comes to water supply. We see signs from towns that state, “water ban” no watering of the grass, etc. The grass is getting so burnt and dry, and the flowers, fruit, and crops are withering due to this drought.

It feels like such a barren wilderness. The heat is so bad they postponed a Trithalon in Boston this weekend.

How about our spiritual life? Droughts can occur when we neglect the most important part of our spiritual life.

Like plants and crops, we as humans need our thirst quenched by drinking lots of water. We need to drink spiritual water as well.

It is very difficult to get out of a drought spiritually. One reason is because it takes discipline and faith.
Disciple like exercise is a necessity to make progress. It takes self discipline to spend time alone with God. Time in His Word and prayer.
It takes faith to believe and trust that the Lord will get you through this.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him”.
Hebrews 11:6 NIV

Acting spiritual or religious just doesn’t cut it when it comes to allowing God to replenish us. The Lord desires we have an intimate personal time with Him. He wants to feed you, bless you, and fill you to overflowing from the inside out.

When I get hot and bothered due to excess heat I tend to become lazy like not praying or spending time with the Lord. Even irritable because I need an attitude adjustment. I dont like when this happens because this is not who I am. When we neglect time alone with God we get in a rut or a drought. We become empty and thirsty.

Jesus said, “Everyone who drinks of this water (natural water) will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give you will become in you a spring of water welling up to eternal life” John 4:13-14 ESV.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28‭-‬30 NLT

Do not be weary in well doing for in due season you will reap if you do not faint” Gal. 6:9

Then he said to me, “This river flows east through the desert into the valley of the Dead Sea. The waters of this stream will make the salty waters of the Dead Sea fresh and pure. There will be swarms of living things wherever the water of this river flows. Fish will abound in the Dead Sea, for its waters will become fresh. Life will flourish wherever this water flows. Fruit trees of all kinds will grow along both sides of the river. The leaves of these trees will never turn brown and fall, and there will always be fruit on their branches. There will be a new crop every month, for they are watered by the river flowing from the Temple. The fruit will be for food and the leaves for healing.”
Ezekiel 47:8‭-‬9‭, ‬12 NLT

Greetings! My name is Andy Provitola and I live in New England on the south shore between Boston and the beautiful Cape Cod region. The purpose of my blogging and writing is to encourage you in your journey here on planet earth. Life is full of pressing issues and problems and my desire is to discover a place for peace, hope, healing, and contentment. I am a follower of Jesus Christ – God’s one and only Son of God and discovered these truths along my own personal journey. Having discovered a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ does not mean I have to be religious to attain the rewards of heaven. The fact is God provides grace for us and accepts us as we are in His image. In other words, we cannot attain heaven or life eternal on our own, but by God’s loving grace and no merit of our own. My goal is to continue to find a balance of life from a spiritual and practical perspective with a purpose to please and glorify God in all that I do because of His ‘Gift of Grace’. God is not transcendent and so far away that he is out of reach with humanity. God desires that His presence lives within us and not just in the galaxies and the universe. Experiencing the unconditional love of God has been so rewarding and while discovering the truth and purpose for my life. Moving forward in this life is not a sprint, but a marathon when it comes to this race here on earth. I am blogging because I find it is a good way to connect in a much more effective and efficient way when it comes to communicating and interacting with with people that I do not know. Blogging and writing challenges me and also stretches me specifically in my thoughts, my mind, my emotions, and my spiritual life to live a vertical relation with God and a horizontal relationship with others. There will be a variety of topics and subjects to address including youth, young adults, family, singles, seniors, relationships, etc. Some of the topics will include God’s creation and power, depression, loneliness, suicide, hope, healing, setbacks, financial matters, business, stress, anxiety, care, encouragement, and so much more I would like to connect with all walks of life, ethnicity, culturally, other religions, socio-economics, and more I am currently writing a book and several memoirs about my own life and journey . The journey begins at a young age growing up in Malden, Massachusetts, specifically Maplewood Square to where I am today. I became paralyzed from the waist down as a senior in high school and I share how my life changed for the better! “But I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may [with joy] finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus. To testify faithfully of the good news of God’s [precious undeserved] grace [which makes us free of guilt of sin and grants us eternal life]. Acts 20:24 Amplified Version
