The little red boat says, “Sunken Ship”.
“When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation”.
When the storms of life arise in your life how do you respond? Do you fly off the handle? Maybe the drama so sensationalized that the people around you may keep their distance. Maybe the storm is a real tribulation in life.
Notice the verse above says, “the godly have a lasting foundation”.
Jesus used the parables to demonstrate where our foundation are laid this is a true test of your faith. Am I building on sand or a on a solid rock.
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
The difference in what we face is the foundation we build upon. Christ is the solid rock. Jesus even emphasized to the disciples that He Jesus Christ is the Rock.
“Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it”.
Jesus reminds Peter and the disciples the Christ is the ROCK which is Petra in the Greek meaning large Boulder like the size of an iceberg. Peter “the rock” means Petros meaning pebble a small rock. Christ is the head of the church.
As believers we can place our faith and trust solely in Christ Jesus not Peter. Jesus becomes the “I” or the “I AM” in whatever you are facing even if it is facing the gates of hell or death.
No matter what storms you face, trust the Lord always in faith, because ‘God is love and perfect love cast out all fear’.
My friend you can be assured that your boat won’t sink!
Have a Happy and safe 4th weekend🇺🇲
