Enter Into God’s Rest

ENTER INTO GOD’S REST

This Sunday we tirn the clocks ahead. When you wake up Sunday you are probably tired since we lose an hour of sleep by moving the clocks forward. The advantage is long sunlight day-to-day! Too often we can find ourselves running around everywhere only to be so overtired or exhausted by the time the next day comes. Our bodies and minds require rest to recharge our batteries. More importantly, our spirit needs rest. Yes, it is necessary to have the right amount of sleep at night to be more productive.

When our heart is not right, we are bothered by something we have done or somebody has done ill will toward us, we lose true rest and lack peace of mind. To find true rest we must humbly and willfully come to God’s throne of grace. This may sound frightening, but it is not! God desires and longs to be with each of us on a personal level. This means a one on one between yourself and God the Father. God is a loving heavenly Father and wants to lavish us with His unconditional love.

“God made the way for access to find true rest. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding”.
Ephesians 1:7‭-‬8 NLT

There are times we drift away like a boat that is not anchored properly. Life pressing issues can easily overwhelm us of we allow them to.
We can be misled by others, even y those who are religious zealots claiming to have the truth, but lay heavy burdens on you. Their acts of piety are just for show and they are not genuine. There are believers who just get burned out due to many demands placed on them. There is an 80/20 rule in most work places and ministry. 20 percent of the people do most of the work, while 80% are spectators!
Be wise to other peoples motives and do not be manipulated only to be hurt and burden down with exhaustion and discouragement.
“We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away”.
Hebrews 2:1 NIV

To renew a fresh insight we must look to the Lord with a fresh touch of His grace often. So let us come to the throne of grace with confidence.

HERE IS A PROMISE from GOD FOR YOU TO HOLD ONTO TODAY:
“For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. SO LET US DO OUR BEST TO ENTER THAT REST, But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.

So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, LET US HOLD FIRMLY TO WHAT WE BELIEVE. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings (temptations) we do, yet he did not sin.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:10‭-‬11‭, ‬14‭-‬16 NLT.

Have a great day and weekend my friend and may you find rest today.

Greetings! My name is Andy Provitola and I live in New England on the south shore between Boston and the beautiful Cape Cod region. The purpose of my blogging and writing is to encourage you in your journey here on planet earth. Life is full of pressing issues and problems and my desire is to discover a place for peace, hope, healing, and contentment. I am a follower of Jesus Christ – God’s one and only Son of God and discovered these truths along my own personal journey. Having discovered a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ does not mean I have to be religious to attain the rewards of heaven. The fact is God provides grace for us and accepts us as we are in His image. In other words, we cannot attain heaven or life eternal on our own, but by God’s loving grace and no merit of our own. My goal is to continue to find a balance of life from a spiritual and practical perspective with a purpose to please and glorify God in all that I do because of His ‘Gift of Grace’. God is not transcendent and so far away that he is out of reach with humanity. God desires that His presence lives within us and not just in the galaxies and the universe. Experiencing the unconditional love of God has been so rewarding and while discovering the truth and purpose for my life. Moving forward in this life is not a sprint, but a marathon when it comes to this race here on earth. I am blogging because I find it is a good way to connect in a much more effective and efficient way when it comes to communicating and interacting with with people that I do not know. Blogging and writing challenges me and also stretches me specifically in my thoughts, my mind, my emotions, and my spiritual life to live a vertical relation with God and a horizontal relationship with others. There will be a variety of topics and subjects to address including youth, young adults, family, singles, seniors, relationships, etc. Some of the topics will include God’s creation and power, depression, loneliness, suicide, hope, healing, setbacks, financial matters, business, stress, anxiety, care, encouragement, and so much more I would like to connect with all walks of life, ethnicity, culturally, other religions, socio-economics, and more I am currently writing a book and several memoirs about my own life and journey . The journey begins at a young age growing up in Malden, Massachusetts, specifically Maplewood Square to where I am today. I became paralyzed from the waist down as a senior in high school and I share how my life changed for the better! “But I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may [with joy] finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus. To testify faithfully of the good news of God’s [precious undeserved] grace [which makes us free of guilt of sin and grants us eternal life]. Acts 20:24 Amplified Version
