‘When you don’t take time out to notice & understand your emotions, they have a strange way of resurfacing when you least expect or want them to’.
Emotions can sweep over you during the holidays like no other time throughout the year. Emotions like grief, sadness, loneliness, depression, fear can easily grip us and cause great despair.
When Christ was born Jesus was a ray of hope in such a dark time. King Herod was out to kill all male babies two years old and younger. Thank God Mary and Joseph fled with Jesus to Egypt because King Herod was out to get the Messiah, the true King Jesus Christ the Son of God.
God came into the world during this dark time and brought the true light, a light of hope in a dark time.
So often we let emotions get the best of us and it’s okay to grieve, but we should not allow the enemies like Herod to live in despondency and despair and try to destroy us.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises”.
Romans 15:13 AMP
“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]”.
Isaiah 26:3 AMP
Look to the God of Hope where we find strength, peace, love, contentment, joy, and life. God will get you through this dark valley because He cares for you. 🙏💙🎇
