Light Exposes Darkness

“The eye is the lamp of the body; so if your eye is clear [spiritually perceptive], your whole body will be full of light [benefiting from God’s precepts].
But if your eye is bad [spiritually blind], your whole body will be full of darkness [devoid of God’s precepts]. So if the [very] light inside you [your inner self, your heart, your conscience] is darkness, how great and terrible is that darkness!
Matthew 6:22‭-‬23 AMP

Have you ever entered a pitch black room only to panic because you could not find the light switch and you were not familiar with the room?

The eye is the lamp of the body. Light always gives us guidance and direction. God’s Word is “a lamp unto my feet and a light unto our path”. Psalm 119:105

When I need direction and guidance I look to the Lord and the Scriptures first. It is wise to seek God as a first resort rather than your last. Too often we get the wrong counsel and things backfire. A good counselor is a very good listener. If they talk too much then listen to what they are not saying. This includes your pastor where you attend church.

The light always exposes darkness. This is why some people try to shun the truth. For example, a person addicted and bound in pornography does not like truth. Porn degrades women, and people. It is insidious and demoralizes people.
How can a young man keep his way pure?

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to Your precepts]. Your word I have treasured and stored in my heart, That I may not sin against You”.
Psalms 119:9‭, ‬11 AMP

The more time you spend in the Word of God and sound teaching you will learn to be a true disciple or follower of Christ.

Memorizing God’s Word helps us to renew our mind and cleanses our mind and spirit. The light of God’s word guides and strengthens us and help us to overcome any temptation.

God’s word exposes all forms of darkness.

For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [live as those who are native-born to the Light] (for the fruit [the effect, the result] of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth).”
Ephesians 5:8‭-‬9 AMP
“That He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish”.
Ephesians 5:26‭-‬27 NKJV

So if your eye is clear [spiritually perceptive], your whole body will be full of light [benefiting from God’s precepts].”

Temptation is powerful, but God gives us the Holy Spirit to help us overcome for those who have Christ in their life.

“Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God” [for temptation does not originate from God, but from our own flaws]; for God cannot be tempted by [what is] evil, and He Himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted when he is dragged away, enticed and baited [to commit sin] by his own [worldly] desire (lust, passion). Then when the illicit desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin has run its course, it gives birth to death.”
James 1:13‭-‬15 AMP

Dying to self and taking up the cross daily is how we overcome as believers. Remember, God is patient and He is fighting your battles today. When we ask and seek forgiveness with a sincere heart it is then God will set us apart to be a light shining bright in our world.

Have a great day and week my friend.

Greetings! My name is Andy Provitola and I live in New England on the south shore between Boston and the beautiful Cape Cod region. The purpose of my blogging and writing is to encourage you in your journey here on planet earth. Life is full of pressing issues and problems and my desire is to discover a place for peace, hope, healing, and contentment. I am a follower of Jesus Christ – God’s one and only Son of God and discovered these truths along my own personal journey. Having discovered a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ does not mean I have to be religious to attain the rewards of heaven. The fact is God provides grace for us and accepts us as we are in His image. In other words, we cannot attain heaven or life eternal on our own, but by God’s loving grace and no merit of our own. My goal is to continue to find a balance of life from a spiritual and practical perspective with a purpose to please and glorify God in all that I do because of His ‘Gift of Grace’. God is not transcendent and so far away that he is out of reach with humanity. God desires that His presence lives within us and not just in the galaxies and the universe. Experiencing the unconditional love of God has been so rewarding and while discovering the truth and purpose for my life. Moving forward in this life is not a sprint, but a marathon when it comes to this race here on earth. I am blogging because I find it is a good way to connect in a much more effective and efficient way when it comes to communicating and interacting with with people that I do not know. Blogging and writing challenges me and also stretches me specifically in my thoughts, my mind, my emotions, and my spiritual life to live a vertical relation with God and a horizontal relationship with others. There will be a variety of topics and subjects to address including youth, young adults, family, singles, seniors, relationships, etc. Some of the topics will include God’s creation and power, depression, loneliness, suicide, hope, healing, setbacks, financial matters, business, stress, anxiety, care, encouragement, and so much more I would like to connect with all walks of life, ethnicity, culturally, other religions, socio-economics, and more I am currently writing a book and several memoirs about my own life and journey . The journey begins at a young age growing up in Malden, Massachusetts, specifically Maplewood Square to where I am today. I became paralyzed from the waist down as a senior in high school and I share how my life changed for the better! “But I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may [with joy] finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus. To testify faithfully of the good news of God’s [precious undeserved] grace [which makes us free of guilt of sin and grants us eternal life]. Acts 20:24 Amplified Version
