It is Your Choice!

Have you ever been confronted or faced with a decision that was going to make or break you?

There are times in our lives that we are placed in a position to compromise, stretch the truth (which is lying), or not giving in to the status quo. How about lying for you boss or manager when they say, “tell them I am not here or, “I’m in a meeting as they are in front of you sipping coffee!” Maybe a couple of co-workers caught up in an affair and now they need an alibi to cover up!

These are real life challenges when we get pulled into compromising situations and we are suddenly trapped to defend them. Now your reputation, character, and integrity is on the line.

It takes courage and wisdom to do the right thing! It may cost you a lot like being threatened to lose your job or have a strained relationship with a longtime coworker or friendship.
The 3 Hebrew boys faced King Nebuchadnezzar and were threatened with their life to be thrown into the fiery furnace because they did not bow to his commands to worship him. Their heart was committed to worshipping the One True God. They were willing to risk their lives because of the love they had for God. They also believed and trusted the Lord that somehow God would make a way even if thrown into the furnace.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?” They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.” He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”
Daniel
3:16‭-‬18‭, ‬24‭-‬25 NIV

Guess what? God did make a way for not compromising and they had the courage and commitment to stand up for their convictions and believing to do what was right. The king Nebuchadnezzar saw a 4th man in the fire with them. It is believed it was Jesus walking in the fire with them. Their clothes were not burned, not a hair was singed, and God delivered them!( Daniel 3).

Whatever you are facing today or the challenges to compromise my friend, the best thing you can do is trust the Lord to do the right thing even if there is a price to pay, but don’t allow it to be at your expense. I promise you the Lord will have something better in store for you and you will be a better person.

This may come against the grain of many, but it is a principle to live by. When we let our peers influence our character in a negative light we stand for nothing and have no back bone because we are tested to see what we are made of. It is always reassuring to look into the mirror each day and know you did the right thing.

Remember, even if you fail in the moment there is forgiveness with the Lord and others to make things right.
Have a good weekend my friend

Greetings! My name is Andy Provitola and I live in New England on the south shore between Boston and the beautiful Cape Cod region. The purpose of my blogging and writing is to encourage you in your journey here on planet earth. Life is full of pressing issues and problems and my desire is to discover a place for peace, hope, healing, and contentment. I am a follower of Jesus Christ – God’s one and only Son of God and discovered these truths along my own personal journey. Having discovered a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ does not mean I have to be religious to attain the rewards of heaven. The fact is God provides grace for us and accepts us as we are in His image. In other words, we cannot attain heaven or life eternal on our own, but by God’s loving grace and no merit of our own. My goal is to continue to find a balance of life from a spiritual and practical perspective with a purpose to please and glorify God in all that I do because of His ‘Gift of Grace’. God is not transcendent and so far away that he is out of reach with humanity. God desires that His presence lives within us and not just in the galaxies and the universe. Experiencing the unconditional love of God has been so rewarding and while discovering the truth and purpose for my life. Moving forward in this life is not a sprint, but a marathon when it comes to this race here on earth. I am blogging because I find it is a good way to connect in a much more effective and efficient way when it comes to communicating and interacting with with people that I do not know. Blogging and writing challenges me and also stretches me specifically in my thoughts, my mind, my emotions, and my spiritual life to live a vertical relation with God and a horizontal relationship with others. There will be a variety of topics and subjects to address including youth, young adults, family, singles, seniors, relationships, etc. Some of the topics will include God’s creation and power, depression, loneliness, suicide, hope, healing, setbacks, financial matters, business, stress, anxiety, care, encouragement, and so much more I would like to connect with all walks of life, ethnicity, culturally, other religions, socio-economics, and more I am currently writing a book and several memoirs about my own life and journey . The journey begins at a young age growing up in Malden, Massachusetts, specifically Maplewood Square to where I am today. I became paralyzed from the waist down as a senior in high school and I share how my life changed for the better! “But I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may [with joy] finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus. To testify faithfully of the good news of God’s [precious undeserved] grace [which makes us free of guilt of sin and grants us eternal life]. Acts 20:24 Amplified Version
