Faith Conquers Doubt and Fear

Seeking the will of God can become a frustrating journey, especially when it cuts against the grain of what our culture calls success.

When the Lord calls He does equip us for the task at hand although we may not always see the whole picture. This is where faith is applied (Trusting in God and His Word, not blind faith).

One thing to realize is that God is the one who qualifies the called, and He doesn’t call the qualified. Moses saw the promised land, but Joshua and Caleb conquered to possess the promise land, while the other ten spies murmured, complained, and doubted them. The obstacles in front of them were certainly intimidating. The doubters saw themselves as little grasshoppers, while Caleb and Joshua had the ‘eyes of faith’. “They are bread for us”!

“Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants ( the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
Numbers 13:30‭-‬33 NKJV

As they led the Israelites to move forward Joshua encouraged them to move forward. Three times Joshua admonishes them to ‘Be strong and courageous’, and not to fear the enemy or what battles and obstacles you are facing!
“No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. “Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous.
Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:5‭-‬9 NLT

Soon after Joshua and the people crossed the Jordan River on ‘dry grounds! Then the other impossible task was to conquer the Canaanites who built a wall surrounding the city of Jericho. They did an uncanny thing and march around the walks 13 times. 7 times on the last day. Then blew the trumpets 🎺 and guess what. The walls fell flat and they possessed the land.

What a victory!
What faithful leadership by Joshua and Caleb!
Yes, God kept his promise to them. Why? They believed the Lord for the impossible and they listened to God and not the naysayers.

What are you facing today? If you have doubts, ask the Lord to help you to overcome your doubts and discouragement.

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us”.
Romans 8:31‭, ‬37

Friend it is time to declare victory in your life and believe God for the impossible now because God is bigger than this pandemic. Whatever sickness or addiction you or a loved one is facing.
Stand your ground for the battle is the Lord’s and the enemy is not as tough or intimidating as you may think. Amen.

Greetings! My name is Andy Provitola and I live in New England on the south shore between Boston and the beautiful Cape Cod region. The purpose of my blogging and writing is to encourage you in your journey here on planet earth. Life is full of pressing issues and problems and my desire is to discover a place for peace, hope, healing, and contentment. I am a follower of Jesus Christ – God’s one and only Son of God and discovered these truths along my own personal journey. Having discovered a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ does not mean I have to be religious to attain the rewards of heaven. The fact is God provides grace for us and accepts us as we are in His image. In other words, we cannot attain heaven or life eternal on our own, but by God’s loving grace and no merit of our own. My goal is to continue to find a balance of life from a spiritual and practical perspective with a purpose to please and glorify God in all that I do because of His ‘Gift of Grace’. God is not transcendent and so far away that he is out of reach with humanity. God desires that His presence lives within us and not just in the galaxies and the universe. Experiencing the unconditional love of God has been so rewarding and while discovering the truth and purpose for my life. Moving forward in this life is not a sprint, but a marathon when it comes to this race here on earth. I am blogging because I find it is a good way to connect in a much more effective and efficient way when it comes to communicating and interacting with with people that I do not know. Blogging and writing challenges me and also stretches me specifically in my thoughts, my mind, my emotions, and my spiritual life to live a vertical relation with God and a horizontal relationship with others. There will be a variety of topics and subjects to address including youth, young adults, family, singles, seniors, relationships, etc. Some of the topics will include God’s creation and power, depression, loneliness, suicide, hope, healing, setbacks, financial matters, business, stress, anxiety, care, encouragement, and so much more I would like to connect with all walks of life, ethnicity, culturally, other religions, socio-economics, and more I am currently writing a book and several memoirs about my own life and journey . The journey begins at a young age growing up in Malden, Massachusetts, specifically Maplewood Square to where I am today. I became paralyzed from the waist down as a senior in high school and I share how my life changed for the better! “But I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may [with joy] finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus. To testify faithfully of the good news of God’s [precious undeserved] grace [which makes us free of guilt of sin and grants us eternal life]. Acts 20:24 Amplified Version
