Erosion is Subtle Be Watchful

Watch your Life and your Doctrine Closely!

I was away a couple of years ago down the Cape Cod by Nauset Light/Coast Guard Beach. What struck me was the erosion of the beach and sand due to the ocean storms. I thought erosion of beaches only happened in California!

The nation’s morals have eroded to a point that we are trying to figure out how we got here. There is no excuse for it and plenty of blame to go around. It was living reality TV.

Lying, cheating, exaggeration have become common a common denominator with fake news, media hype, and even censorship in our society. Yet, we are expected to tolerate everything these days even when things are blatantly wrong.

Absolute truth has become an absolute assault in areas of life and society. Things called good are now evil, and evil is now called good. Morality and a person’s spirituality can erode in such a deceiving way. It doesn’t happen all at once, but erosion occurs like a large barrel of water fills up with just drops of water at a time until it is full and overflowing.

Many churches, not all of them are experiencing a famine of the Word of God in church. Sound preaching and teaching are void, and the music and entertainment have become the priority just like the Hollywood and celebrities. (I like good contemporary music that glorifies God). I want to get fed when I go to church how about you? Junk food makes us unhealthy and this goes with eating healthy in our spiritual diet and walk with God.

The way we stop the erosion is to ask God to forgive us and make our hearts right with Him for a personal renewal. To turn from our selfish ways. May I also add to turn from our angry and violent ways. Freedom and peace are at stake in our nation here in the USA.

If the Pastor is not teaching proper Scripture to get fed then leave and find a place that teaches sound truth. Read and study the the Word of God to build on a solid foundation. Stories move us, but only the Word of God can change us!

Spend time in prayer with the Lord and pray in Jesus Name to God the Father. Pray for your family, church, your country and the needs of others. Please continue to pray for our nation and its leaders. Pray also for the nurses, doctors,, first responders, etc. during this Coronavirus pandemic.

To combat the erosion we must be prepared, rooted, and grounded for the storm that comes our way. Erosion happens subtly so guard your life closely. We live in an age of a selfish society where the ‘feel good’ mentality and ‘it’s all about me syndrome’ has led us down a path away from a loving God.

I know this was a strong today and I am personally convicted as well. May we allow the work of the Holy Spirit to do the spiritual surgery that is needed.

May we become aware of our life and behavior to be examples of living for God and loving our neighbors.

Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
1 Timothy
4:15-16 NIV

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16‭-‬17 NIV

Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack—rooted, established, immovable], knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. [You do not suffer alone.]
1 Peter 5:8‭-‬9 AMP

As you begin this week my friend look closely within and then your surroundings. Have your convictions and conscience been watered down?

Is your life eroding away like the seashore? Is God the fiber of your being and part of your lifestyle or has He been put on the back burner and you forgot where the Lord went. The reality is that God is faithful and does not change. We are the ones who choose to walk away and do as we please not God. May we not drift away with subtle erosion.

Greetings! My name is Andy Provitola and I live in New England on the south shore between Boston and the beautiful Cape Cod region. The purpose of my blogging and writing is to encourage you in your journey here on planet earth. Life is full of pressing issues and problems and my desire is to discover a place for peace, hope, healing, and contentment. I am a follower of Jesus Christ – God’s one and only Son of God and discovered these truths along my own personal journey. Having discovered a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ does not mean I have to be religious to attain the rewards of heaven. The fact is God provides grace for us and accepts us as we are in His image. In other words, we cannot attain heaven or life eternal on our own, but by God’s loving grace and no merit of our own. My goal is to continue to find a balance of life from a spiritual and practical perspective with a purpose to please and glorify God in all that I do because of His ‘Gift of Grace’. God is not transcendent and so far away that he is out of reach with humanity. God desires that His presence lives within us and not just in the galaxies and the universe. Experiencing the unconditional love of God has been so rewarding and while discovering the truth and purpose for my life. Moving forward in this life is not a sprint, but a marathon when it comes to this race here on earth. I am blogging because I find it is a good way to connect in a much more effective and efficient way when it comes to communicating and interacting with with people that I do not know. Blogging and writing challenges me and also stretches me specifically in my thoughts, my mind, my emotions, and my spiritual life to live a vertical relation with God and a horizontal relationship with others. There will be a variety of topics and subjects to address including youth, young adults, family, singles, seniors, relationships, etc. Some of the topics will include God’s creation and power, depression, loneliness, suicide, hope, healing, setbacks, financial matters, business, stress, anxiety, care, encouragement, and so much more I would like to connect with all walks of life, ethnicity, culturally, other religions, socio-economics, and more I am currently writing a book and several memoirs about my own life and journey . The journey begins at a young age growing up in Malden, Massachusetts, specifically Maplewood Square to where I am today. I became paralyzed from the waist down as a senior in high school and I share how my life changed for the better! “But I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may [with joy] finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus. To testify faithfully of the good news of God’s [precious undeserved] grace [which makes us free of guilt of sin and grants us eternal life]. Acts 20:24 Amplified Version
